Can I apply my general admission tickets toward a membership?

Admission tickets can be applied to membership on the same day they were purchased as follows: up to 2 tickets can be applied for a Dual membership, up to 4 tickets for a Family membership and up to 6 tickets for a Premium Extended Family membership.

How often can I visit the museum?

As a member you will receive free unlimited admission during the Museum's operating hours for the entire duration of your membership.

Is my membership tax deductible?

Annual membership is 100% tax deductible. Many companies will make a matching gift to the Children’s Museum when one of their employees makes a tax-deductible donation. Please ask your Human Resources department about your donation to LICM.

Can I bring a guest?

Premium Family Members can bring one free guest;  Premium Extended Family Members can bring two free guests each visit. Additional guests accompanying you will receive a $3 discount off museum admission, which will be charged at entry.

What if I want to switch one of the members?

You can change the name of a designated member on your membership; a  $10 processing fee will be charged. You will receive new membership cards identifying the current names on the membership.

It’s easy, send an e-mail to membership@licm.org, call  (516) 224–5821, or stop by the INFO desk in the lobby.

What's the ASTC reciprocal policy and which museums can I visit?

ASTC offers free admission to hundreds of museums around the world. There is a 90 mile restriction. You cannot visit museums that are within 90 miles of Long Island Children's Museum. Please download the list to find out which museums you can visit and their admission policies.

How do I reserve tickets online?

When are the exclusive member events?

Exclusive member events are listed on our calendar. Events are also listed in our weekly email blasts. Please subscribe to receive our weekly email blast.

Are discounts available on birthday parties?

Premium members receive 15% off when booking birthday parties. Basic members receive a 10% discount.

Are discounts available at the museum store?

Premium members receive 15% off when shopping at the museum store. Basic members receive a 10% discount.

Are there any other discounts included with membership?

Members receive discounts on workshops, theater programs, and special events.

How can I redeem my theater passes?

Premium Family Members receive four theater passes and Premium Extended family members receive six theater passes which are mailed with membership cards. These passes can be redeemed with your membership card at the box office.  The passes are only good for LICM productions.

Can I give my theater passes to family or friends?

Yes you can. Please ask them to redeem the passes under your primary member's name. The theater passes will be tracked under your membership.

Why do I need to provide ID when I visit?

For your safety and to prevent the use of lost or stolen membership cards, we require members to present photo I.D. upon entering the Museum.

If I lost my card, what do I do?

If you lose or misplace your card, we are happy to provide a replacement; a $10 processing fee will be charged.

Can I purchase additional cards?

We provide 2 cards per membership. An additional 2 cards may be purchased at the cost of $10. 

What if I forgot my membership card?

All adults must have photo I.D. with them when redeeming tickets. If you forgot your membership card but have photo identification, this will be accepted.

Can I visit a reciprocal ASTC or ACM museum without my membership card?

You must show a valid temporary or permanent membership card when visiting reciprocal museums. Only LICM has your membership information and reciprocal museums cannot verify your membership with a photo I.D.

May I drop my child off?

No, children must be accompanied at all times by an adult age 18 or older.

May I bring food and drinks into the Museum?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food to the Museum.  For the safety of our visitors, food and beverages are restricted to the cafeteria.  

Does the Museum offer free admission?

The Museum is free to members every day we are open during regular operating hours.
