The first of four artists in this series, NEA Artist in Residence Denise Silva-Dennis will lead this workshop in Learning to Listen.

Join us at 11 am or 1 pm to learn about the importance of listening as artist Denise Silva-Dennis explains the significance of talking sticks in indigenous cultures. Create your own talking stick using traditional materials such as beads, feathers, shells and leather for you and your family and friends to use while taking turns when discussing what's important to you. This program is approximately 60 minutes.

General museum admission purchase or reservation at 1pm or earlier is required to attend.

Fee: Free with Museum admission. Event tickets will be on sale at the Box Office the day of the event.

This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
