Created by Polyglot Theatre of Australia, this interactive public space theater piece brings giant “ants” and children together in a gentle and unusual landscaping project. The production features three big insects and hundreds of giant bread crumbs. The roving “ants” scurry around the Museum.  Become part of the industrious colony as you join the ants and help them with their crumbs. The production celebrates the nature of collaborative play and children’s relationship with their environment.

Join us in the Inner Lobby 15 minutes prior to each performance to make your own ant antennae to match your new six-legged friends.

Polyglot Theatre performances are assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body, the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and the City of Melbourne. “Ants” is made possible at LICM by a gift from Roni Kohen-Lemle and Robert Lemle.

Free with museum admission.
