Admission tickets can be applied to membership on the same day they were purchased as follows: up to 2 tickets can be applied for a Wonder membership, up to 4 tickets for an Imagination membership and up to 6 tickets for an Exploration membership.
As a member you will receive free unlimited admission during the Museum’s operating hours for the entire duration of your membership.
A portion of your membership may be tax-deductible; please consult your tax consultant to determine the amount permitted by law. Many companies will make a matching gift to the Children’s Museum when one of their employees makes a tax-deductible donation. Please ask your Human Resources department about your donation to LICM.
You may purchase a one- or two-year Membership to LICM. The Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday most of the year, with additional bonus Mondays during some school holidays, and seven days a week throughout July and August. The Museum is closed annually for our two-week Fall Fix-Up in September, our Fundraiser, and some federal holidays including Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
All Plus-level Members can bring one free guest. Additional guests accompanying you will receive a $3 discount off museum admission, which will be charged at entry.
You can change the name of a designated member on your membership; a $10 processing fee will be charged. You will be emailed a digital membership card identifying the current names on the membership.

To redeem your gift membership, simply bring your gift membership email and photo ID to the Box Office. ASTC offers free admission to hundreds of museums around the world. There is a 90 mile restriction. You cannot visit museums that are within 90 miles of Long Island Children’s Museum and your residence. Please download the list to find out which museums you can visit and their admission policies.

You must show a valid temporary or permanent membership card when visiting reciprocal museums. Only LICM has your membership information and reciprocal museums cannot verify your membership with a photo I.D.

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food to the Museum. For the safety of our visitors, food and beverages are restricted to the cafeteria.
The Museum is free to members every day we are open during regular operating hours.
Parties are held during open hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekday parties (Wed–Fri) are held after public hours. Although exclusive use of the Museum is not guaranteed for weekday parties, these events are scheduled so that no exhibit areas are shared with other parties. Private party rooms are always exclusive to your group.
Our Museum parties accommodate up to 40 people, including the birthday family and all child and adult guests. If you are planning a larger party or event, you can consider a Carousel birthday party for up to 60 people, or contact the Events Manager, Karoll Joseph, at kjoseph@licm.org to inquire about additional accommodations at LICM.
We do not offer food packages. You are welcome to bring the food, dessert and non-alcoholic drinks of your choice. We can make recommendations for local food vendors. We have a refrigerator and freezer where you can store cakes or items in need of refrigeration. We do not permit heated trays/Sternos.
Feel free to bring tabletop decorations, banners and pre-inflated balloons. Balloon shine may not be used. Set up access is available 30 minutes prior to the party.

We will happily refund parties cancelled 2 or more weeks prior to the original date. Parties cancelled within 2 weeks of the original date are not eligible for a refund, but you may reschedule and apply your deposit to a new date.
LICM parties take place rain or shine. In the case of impending closure due to snow, we will be in touch about rescheduling.

LICM is a popular destination for summer group visits. We encourage groups to book a minimum of one month in advance of their preferred visit date. After reviewing our policies, you can start the reservation process. Our staff will follow up with you to discuss arrangements within five business days.
For guided visits, the Museum provides free admission for one adult chaperone for every three children age five and under, and free admission for one adult chaperone for every five children over age five. For self-guided trips and extended guided visits, all adults and children pay. Membership may not be used.
Qualifying chaperones include: counselors, CITs and accompanying parents. Nurses and 1:1 aides/paraprofessionals are always admitted free of charge when accompanying a group.
Yes. Additional adults will be charged at the rate of $16. The Museum recommends keeping additional adults (above recommended chaperone levels) to no more than five per tour. Too many grown-ups can spoil the fun!
Ask about our “Extend Your Play” option, which provides free time to explore the Museum as long as you wish until the Museum closes. Children will be charged $2 more to extend their visit. Free chaperone pricing does not apply to an extended visit; adult chaperones will be charged $18 for this extended visit.

Self-guided tour reservations can begin at 11:00 a.m. or later and may last as long as the Museum is open (5 p.m.). Please do not arrive earlier than your appointed time.
To accommodate all Museum visitors, self-guided groups will be asked to break into groups of 10 children (maximum) as they tour the Museum with a maximum of 75 visitors at the self-guided tour rate. Self-guided rates apply to a maximum of 75 campers and adults.
Yes, but only vended service is offered here. Advance reservations are required for groups to use the cafeteria; reservations are available to guided tour groups only. A usage fee does apply. To accommodate all Museum visitors, groups that do not have a cafeteria reservation should rotate through the cafeteria in small groups (10 children maximum).

Nunley’s Carousel is in an enclosed pavilion. Parties can easily be held rain or shine. Should the Carousel close due to severe weather, we will attempt to reschedule your party to the next available date or issue a full refund.

Our team would be happy to chat about the needs and interests of your students to help you pick the best program option for your class. If you would like to come visit the Museum prior to your visit to make sure it is a good fit for your students, please schedule an appointment with our Reservations Manager.
A valid teacher ID from your district will be required to enter the Museum. Walk-throughs are by appointment only and available to the individual teacher only (no additional guests).

The Museum provides free admission for one adult chaperone for every three children kindergarten and younger, and free admission for one adult chaperone for every five children over age five, for guided tours only. Additional adults will be charged at the rate of $17 for guided visits, and $24 for “Double Your Learning” visits. For theater visits, only teachers and 1:1 aides will receive a free seat; all additional adults will be charged $16 for their seats.
For Double Your Learning programs with theater shows, only teachers and 1:1 aides will receive a free seat. All additional adult chaperones will be charged $12 for their seats. If your group wishes to bring more than the adults within the chaperone ratio, adults will be charged $24 for the programs.
