Get ready for a groovy gliding time! Our popular Snowflake Sock Skating exhibit is the perfect spot to pump up this evening party! Enjoy birthday fun as you slide around the rink in soft “sock skates” to a playlist of jammin’ tunes. Heat things up with a cocoa craft. Sweeten up your cocoa mix with yummies like peppermint, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Take home your sweet mix and enjoy!
Step into the adventurous world of a very curious monkey! Gather around for a circle time story about a particularly special day for George. Get hands-on with craft time, then swing by the Curious George™: Let’s Get Curious!* exhibit for play and exploration. Let’s get ready to go bananas!
Treat your kiddos to exclusive play time in the TotSpot gallery – a toddler favorite! Enjoy exploration time and add to the fun with a crafty takeaway.
The perfect party for those who love hands-on messy fun. Enjoy slime concoctions, oobleck confections and sand creations at this ooey, gooey party! Leave the clean-up to us!
Celebrate your little masterpiece’s big day with a party centered on creativity. Party guests slip into smocks and step up to their canvases to create their own frame-worthy art. Choose from a selection of painting options. Paint parties include guided instruction and all supplies.
Calling all party animals! Prepare to make a splash at this ocean animal-themed party! Design your own sea creature masks and scratch art, then embark on a tour of Saltwater Stories, where your seafarers will learn about Long Island’s connection to the sea. Enjoy guided exploration in the Museum to round out the fintastic fun!

Our in-house photographer will capture unforgettable moments from your child’s special day. You bring your biggest smiles, and we’ll capture the memories.
Our $200 photography package includes 50 to 100 professionally captured images, delivered right to you via a private online gallery.
Make your child’s birthday unforgettable with the addition of an enchanting character appearance! Available for Carousel parties and weekday LICM parties. Character options include Ice Queen, Rapunzel, Mermaid Princess, Spider Hero, Enchanted Rose Princess, and more! Ask about this party extra.
Parties are held during open hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekday parties (Wed–Fri) are held after public hours. Although exclusive use of the Museum is not guaranteed for weekday parties, these events are scheduled so that no exhibit areas are shared with other parties. Private party rooms are always exclusive to your group.
Our Museum parties accommodate up to 40 people, including the birthday family and all child and adult guests. If you are planning a larger party or event, you can consider a Carousel birthday party for up to 60 people, or contact the Events Manager, Karoll Joseph, at kjoseph@licm.org to inquire about additional accommodations at LICM.
We do not offer food packages. You are welcome to bring the food, dessert and non-alcoholic drinks of your choice. We can make recommendations for local food vendors. We have a refrigerator and freezer where you can store cakes or items in need of refrigeration. We do not permit heated trays/Sternos.
Feel free to bring tabletop decorations, banners and pre-inflated balloons. Balloon shine may not be used. Set up access is available 30 minutes prior to the party.
All party children ages 1 to 12 will need to be on your guest list. This includes siblings of the birthday child and guests.
Long Island Children’s Museum members receive discounts on the party. Inquire with our party team.
Due to popularity, we suggest booking 2-3 months in advance to secure your preferred date and time. Complete our online form to get your party planning process started. You may also contact us by phone or by setting up an appointment. A $375 deposit is required at least 2 weeks in advance of the party date. A final payment is due at the conclusion of the party. Cash and credit cards are accepted.
We will happily refund parties cancelled 2 or more weeks prior to the original date. Parties cancelled within 2 weeks of the original date are not eligible for a refund, but you may reschedule and apply your deposit to a new date.
LICM parties take place rain or shine. In the case of impending closure due to snow, we will be in touch about rescheduling.
Free parking is available in our East and West parking lots.
