Whether itís your first trip to the LICM Theater or your 70th, you can count on enjoying professional performances that are world class and artistically rich. You can choose to come to only a performance or include a theater experience in your visit to the Museum. Through our interactive theater programming, just like in the Museum, you will learn about yourself, your family, your community and your world in a fun, engaging way.

Dennis Yerry presents "Giving Thanks through Stories, Songs and Dance"

LICM Theater

Saturday November 15 and Sunday November 16 at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Mr. Yerry, is a Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Native American from upstate New York. He brings the American Indian perspective on relationships with the earth to schools and universities throughout the country. He will be playing the Native American flute and drums, and sharing songs and stories. He will also ask the audience to dance along with him!

Mr. Yerry was musical director, composer and performer for the American Indian Dance Theatre; for the theatrical production of "Black Elk Speaks" in Denver and Los Angeles, and the Native American Day of Thanksgiving at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC. He is currently the musical director and composer for the outdoor drama, "Unto These Hills" in Cherokee, North Carolina. He is also featured in the Ken Burn's documentaries "Lewis and Clark" and "The West," as well as other film, TV and CD credits.

Ages: 3 and up. Fee: $5 with museum admission ($4 LICM members), $10 theater only.

Support and Funding

LICM receives support from the New York State Council on the Arts with support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.

 


There are several ways to support the LICM Theater:

  • Fund a performance, either a whole weekendís worth of programming, or a series.
  • Donate equipment, supplies and services to help us maintain and upgrade the Theater.
  • Contribute an item on our wish list.

Accessibility

The LICM Theater is fully accessible. Our stage is accessible by wheelchair so that all visitors are able to participate in interactive performance experiences. An accessible restroom is located right next to the theater.
