Happy as Clams, The Musical - Pre-Kindergarten – Grade 4

Music and Book by Lena Pennino Smith; Musical arrangements by Brian Smith
7 Actors, 1 Stage Manager, 3 Musicians
Back by Popular Demand! A live musical adventure set in Long Island’s Great South Bay. Meet Clammy the clam who confesses she is not “happy as a clam”. Clammy and her best friend Grabby the fiddler crab set out to seek happiness by wishing on a star. They learn about creating friendships on their journey where they meet a love-struck fluke, and float with a jelly. This new quartet meets up with the hungry rock performer, Sea Star, and her Stomach. Then the chase begins, but will friendship prevail? Written by award-winning family performer/journalist and Long Islander, Lena Pennino Smith, this popular show gets everyone singing, dancing and “CLAMoring” for more (while sneaking in some local environmental science and geography).

UPCOMING SHOWS

Elephant & Piggie’s We’re in a Play! – Pre-Kindergarten – Grade 2

Book & Lyrics by Mo Willems; Lyrics by Deborah Wicks La Puma
5 Actors, 1 Stage Manager, 1 Musician
Enjoy a musical adventure, ripped from the pages of Mo Willems' beloved, award-winning, best-selling children's books. His classic characters Elephant and Piggie storm the stage in a rollicking musical romp filled with plenty of pachydermal peril and swiney suspense perfect for young audiences. Carefully cautious Gerald and spirited playful Piggie share a day where anything is possible in an imaginative explo- ration of the meaning of friendship. The comedic duo addresses such important questions as, what do you wear to a fancy pool costume party, should you share your ice cream, and how can two friends play with one toy? Together with nutty back-up singers, The Squirrelles, our duo even gets the audience in- volved in the action. Elephant & Piggie's "We Are in a Play!" is a perfect way to introduce young people to theatre.
A joint production of LICM and Plaza Theatrical, with permission of Music Theater International

In a world where goats have transformed their home into a junkyard, nothing green grows. The elder goats send the young goats, Gruff, Clancy, and Grif to seek food which grows from the ground.
