Story + ART returns to LICM as we read childhood classics and introduce new favorites; followed by a take-home, book-inspired craft. Class size is limited to provide room for physical distancing.

This week in stART we are reading “Radiant Child: The Story of Young Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat” by Javaka Steptoe. As a young boy, artist Jean-Michel Basquiat saw art everywhere: in poetry books and museums, in games and in the words that we speak, and in the pulsing energy of New York City. His story is brought to life through the work of Award-winning illustrator Javaka Steptoe's vivid text and bold artwork that echoes that of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and introduces young readers to the powerful message that art doesn't always have to be neat or clean--and definitely not inside the lines--to be beautiful. Create a piece of art inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Javaka Steptoe.

All tickets must be purchased online in advance along with General Admission purchase or reservation.
