Since opening our doors in 1993 in 5,000-square-feet of donated space, the Museum has grown into a premiere institution recognized nationally for award-winning exhibits, programs and expansive community outreach initiatives. We kicked off our 25th birthday party in November, and we are proud to continue the celebration through 2019!

25 Weeks in honor of 25 Years

Special events, themed workshops and deals and discounts highlighting the Museum’s 25-year history... The Museum kicked off our birthday celebration with the Ultimate Birthday Bash, a two-day birthday party exploring birthday traditions around the world, presented live performances and showcased our creativity with an array of themed activities. We marked our actual birthday by rolling back admission fees to 1993 prices.

Popular performers and productions will return to the LICM Theater during this 25-week celebration. Programming marks other notable birthdays -- from Dr. King to Dr. Seuss – during the celebration season.  The traveling exhibit TINKERTOY®: Build Your Imagination™ was chosen as the perfect exhibit to represent the creativity, ingenuity and problem-solving the Museum inspires during our birthday month.  View the complete schedule of activities to plan your visits, and look out for our 25th Birthday logo on our calendar of events.

The Museum’s 25th Birthday Celebration will conclude with our annual Cupcakes & Cocktail fundraiser on May 9.
